Crucita Campos

I would like to welcome you and your child to the eighth grade.

This will be my twentieth year teaching 8th grade English and Reading, and the excitement and anticipation I feel with beginning a new school year never seems to lessen.  8th grade is an exciting time as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. This is a year of important transitions, as well as one in which acquisition of new skills is accelerated. All eighth grade teachers will be working together throughout this year to provide the best learning environment possible for your student.

Eighth grade teachers emphasize academic achievement and the student’s ability to demonstrate his/her mastery of subject material.  This is accomplished through the following teaching strategies:  pretests, whole group instruction, tests/retests, and differentiated lessons.  We closely follow state and district curriculum standards to ensure that students are learning skills essential for this grade level, are successful on the STAAR tests and other content-based tests.

I look forward to getting to know you and your child.   I hope to make your child’s learning experience a fun and exciting one, and I hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child’s years of schooling.

My conference period is 2:05-2:50 pm.
